WAJZ 96.3 Contest Rules: “High School Challenge”
 
 
No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All contests on WAJZ (referred to hereafter as the “station”) are open to persons 16 years of age or older unless otherwise specified. Employees of Pamal Broadcasting, Ltd. d/b/a Albany Broadcasting Company and its affiliates, contest sponsors, their agencies or representatives, and employees of other radio broadcasting companies are prohibited from participating in any contests on the station, or sponsored by “the station.” To enter, listen to the station, and follow instructions as announced over the air. You may only enter each contest only once on “the station” and/or only once at “the station” sponsored contest location (a client cosponsored promotion with “the station” with an enter to win box). All contests will have specific prizes. Each prize will consist of only what is specified in the prize package. 
 
 
 
·        This contest runs from March 10, 2008 (3/10/08) to April 18, 2007 (4/18/08), total of 6 weeks.
·        WAJZ 96.3 will put together a list of local high schools to be a part of the contest. If a high school is not listed, WAJZ 96.3 must be notified by March 17, 2008 (3/17/08) to approve participation of said high school. If WAJZ 96.3 is not notified by the aforementioned date, that high school will not be allowed to participate due to the overall fairness of the contest.
·        WAJZ 96.3 will be soliciting Capital Region High Schools… to reward ONE LUCKY school for the ultimate prom package: The PROM of a LIFETIME, includes decorations (only per request and is limited to a $200 cost by WAJZ-FM, unless otherwise mentioned), an On-Air D.J.; to serve as host and only host, Music and equipment for up to 1000 students and a NATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST* to perform for your school's prom.
·        NATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST: Artist to be named and decided upon at a point during the contest and will be based upon availability and approval of high school administration.
·        WAJZ at no time will make guarantees to have a NATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST at the winning school. Every effort will be made to provide to winning school, but will be determined by WAJZ staff based on time, date, and availability of an artist.
·        Each person’s vote only counts ONCE per voting period.
·        Contesting will begin with ALL high schools within 50 miles of radio station/studio in the Capital Region of New York qualified on the station website. Currently enrolled students will vote for a high school they would like taken out of the competition to win promotion. WAJZ will announce dates and times that high schools will be eliminated from competition during night show (7p-12a, M-F). On Friday, April 11, 2008 @ 9pm (WAJZ reserves the right to change announcement date) the final high schools will be eliminated and the winning high school will be announced.
·        After each high school elimination, votes will be reset so that all schools start with zero votes again.
·        Detailing online entry forms: MUST include your full name, address, phone number, email, and high school, year of graduation. DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES WILL BE ANNOUNCED DURING NIGHT SHOW.
·        ENTIRE FORM MUST BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY IN ORDER TO QUALIFY AS AN OFFICIAL REGISTERED VOTE.
·        NO HANDWRITTEN ENTRIES will be accepted as part of this promotion. ALL entries must be online or be a print out directly from the Jamz 96.3 website or via text message to specified WAJZ text messaging service.
·        By entering information on the forms for promotion, student releases their information (e-mail address) to be used by Jamz 96.3 and sponsors for contact.
·        ONLY currently enrolled students for the school they are entering for must submit entries.
·        WAJZ, Albany Broadcasting Co reserve the right to determine the winning school based upon date of schools prom or location of the school.
·        The Grand Prize winning school must be within a 50 miles of the Albany Broadcasting Studios.
·        The Grand Prize winning school will ONLY receive the above: Decorations, Hosted by an On-Air WAJZ D.J., Music and equipment for up to 1000 students and a National Recording Artist (if available during the time and date of winning schools prom) *** AT NO TIME during this contest will any cash prize be provided to the winning school, school board or it’s administration department***
·        WAJZ 96.3 has the authority to make any and all final decisions of winning high school. WAJZ 96.3 reserves the right to change anything at any time and will not be held liable for costs incurred to students or participating schools.
·        WAJZ, Albany Broadcasting Co and any TBD Sponsors WILL NOT IN ANYWAY PAY A FEE OR DEPOSIT OF ANY KIND WHETHER FOR A VENUE FOR THE PROM TO BE HELD. WINNING SCHOOL WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR SECURING AND FUNDING / PAYING FOR THE PROM LOCATION, REGARDLESS IF THE PROM IS HELD ON SCHOOL PROPERTY OR NOT.
·        WAJZ, Albany Broadcasting Co and any TBD Sponsors   WILL NOT IN ANYWAY BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY SECURITY FOR THIS EVENT AND WILL NOT PARTICIPATE IF WINNING LOCATION IS DEEMED “HOSTILE or INHOSPITABLE” in respect to the safety and security of the Hosts, National Recording Artist, Music Providers and / or Students.

No cash substitutions of non-cash prizes will be permitted. No duplication of prizes will be awarded.   The station reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Prizes are non-transferable unless otherwise stated and may have an expiration date. You may not enter any contest on behalf of a friend, relative, spouse, etc. Enter to win slips may not be electronically reproduced – only one enter to win entry per person. The station is not responsible for any miss-delivered prizes, damaged, or late prizes sent to winners, regardless of the reason, including prizes sent via U.S. Mail, UPS, Federal Express or any similar delivery service.
 
The station and its participating sponsor(s) will determine the value of the prize. Any taxes incurred as a result of acceptance of a prize are the sole responsibility of the winners. Proper identification (and a copy of identification for our records) is required to receive any prize. Only winner with proper identification that matches station winner sheet may claim prize. Contest/prize winner may be required to complete a W9 form to complete the prize delivery process. Winners consent that the station shall have the right to publicize their name, voice, and likeness and announce that they have won a prize. 
 
Participation in a contest will constitute consent. The station is not responsible for lost or disconnected phone calls. The station is not responsible for cell phone dropouts, service interruption in the completion of a contest. Station reserves the right to go to the next immediate call should a disconnect occur. By participating, winners grant permission for their voice and telephone call to be recorded, edited and re-broadcast for promotional use on the radio station. Calls made to this station at any time may be recorded and edited for on air playback. You may win only one contest on each of the stations once in a 30-day period. You may win one prize valued at $50 or more once per month from all stations combined.

Special Internet Rules
 
Game and contest participants using the Internet must provide a valid email address and fill out all required fields on entry form to be eligible. Limit one entry per day per email address.
“Station” and its sponsors are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone or other transmission failures of any kind; lost or unavailable network connections; or incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions whether caused by station users, by any equipment or programming utilized in promotions, games or contests, or by human error which may occur in the processing of submissions, which may limit a participant's ability to participate.
 
Station reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend a promotion, game or contest should a virus, bug, computer or other problem beyond the control of the station corrupt the administration, security or proper execution of any Internet promotion, game or contest, or the Internet portion of any promotion, game or contest. The station, in its sole discretion, may award prizes to entries received by alternate means. All Internet participants agree to be bound by these rules, and the Official General Rules appearing above.
 
Failure to adhere to rules may result in a revocation of prize. All contest rules will be amended for specific major contest on the station. Rules are available for all contests at the station studios, 6 Johnson Road, Latham, NY 12110, Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm. Rules for major contests may also be obtained at the station studios. (Rev. 2/26/08)
