The National Weather Services warns of a 'multi-hazard' storm

Although it's been a somewhat mild winter when it comes to snowfall, we've still had some significant weather events like the strong winds that knocked out power to thousands last week. This weekend, the National Weather Service in Albany is warning of a 'multi-hazard' storm that could bring a combination of strong winds, snow, heavy rain and the potential for flooding to parts of the Capital Region.

The locations most likely to see snow are in the higher elevations, like the southern Adirondacks, Helderbergs, Taconics and northeastern Catskills. Lower terrains are expected to get heavy rains, would could bring flooding to prone areas.

The heavy rain is expected to begin Saturday night into Sunday, wind speeds of 40mph in some places and will likely carry into Monday. Much like last week, strong winds could take down some limbs and trees causing the potential for widespread power outages.
