Puerto Rico Rolls Back Reopening Plans

Puerto Rico Rolls Back Reopening Plans

After Puerto Rico opened for tourism, the territory rolled back those plans.

Puerto Rico reopened on July 15th but a spike in COVID-19 cases directly correlated with visitors from the U.S. mainland.

Governor Wanda Vazquez has closed bars, marinas, gyms, casinos, and theaters until at least July 31st. Alcohol sales will stop at 7:00 pm and beaches are restricted to exercise only.

Visitors had been very non-compliant about wearing masks and social distancing. The official reopening plan has been pushed back to August 15th.
