Lil Wayne Wanted To Fix His “F Is For Phenomenal” Lyric After It Was Released

During an interview with Andrew Barber for his podcast, Fake Shore Drive, Cortez Bryant, who is Lil Wayne’s long-time manager, spoke about a lyric that Lil Wayne insisted on changing because it was a mistake.

The line Weezy wanted to change was, “Weezy F. Baby, and the F is for phenomenal.” Cortez says he argued with Wayne over the line because he wanted to go back and correct it but the music was digital and had already been distributed and was gone.

“He was really down, pissed, ‘F-ck the whole mixtape’ just because of that one damn line,” says Cortez. The song “Yes” went on to be a hit and but it’s probably Wayne’s least favorite song.
