Would you change your plans for your vegan boyfriend?

“My birthday is coming up next week and I want to go out to dinner with my boyfriend and some friends. He’s vegan and we only eat vegan at home, so I want to go somewhere that I can get a nice steak for a change, but checking online my favorite place doesn’t have any vegan options.
Should I make reservations somewhere else or ask him to put up with it?”
