How do you stop your son from lying about drinking at home?

“We recently got a call from our son’s school because they were concerned about his well being. He’s 12 years old and he told his friends that we let him get drunk at home and that we’re never around at night, which is simply untrue.
We’ve received messages from other parents about it.
What should we do?”
