This is WILD. Antonio Brown has just purchased The Albany Empire. This isn’t like toooo shocking because his pop Touchdown Eddie Brown (The Goat) played here all these years with The Firebirds. I mean imagine buying your Dads old team you grew up watching? Priceless.
The Albany Empire, which was founded in 2018 and joined the National Arena League (NAL) in 2019, has quickly become a fan favorite in the region. The team won the NAL championship in their inaugural season and reached the playoffs in 2021 before the pandemic forced the league to suspend operations.
I love that football is back in the Cap City. I love the Empire, I love The MVP Arena, I love the Block Parties. Yo, AB! Need a hype man? Here’s my credentials real quick:
I’m just saying!! All jokes aside I do truly feel this is great for Albany. The acquisition will fill seats in the MVP Arena, It will attract the nations top talent and if The Empire is winning, Albany wins. Don’t let that go over your head! Welcome back, Eddie & AB. The city appreciates this.
