Listen man… with AB becoming part owner of The Empire, I’m hearing SOOO much buzz around the city about the Empire and I love it. The Albany Empire, the reigning National Arena League champions, start the 2023 season THIS Sunday. With seven home games and seven away games, the Empire will defend their title and strive for a historic third consecutive NAL Championship.
The 2023 season will kick off on Sunday, April 16th at 2:30 pm with the Empire’s home opener at MVP Arena on Transfinder Field. The game will feature a halftime ceremony to honor the team’s championship victory in the 2022 season, as the newest banner drops in MVP Arena. That’s going to be epic.
It is an exciting time for the Empire and their fans, as they look to defend their title and continue their impressive run of success. The team will begin their journey in the same venue where they were crowned champions just eight months prior. This adds an extra layer of motivation for the Empire as they return to MVP Arena to begin their quest for a third consecutive NAL Championship.
The Empire’s first opponent of the 2023 season will be the Orlando Predators. While the opponent may be different, the Empire will have the familiarity of being back on their home turf to kick off the season.
