A major renovation is taking place at the North Country Commons shopping center on Route 146 in Clifton Park. The strip mall is currently home to Ocean State Job Lot, Cart Wheels Gymnastics, Clifton Park Bottle & Can Retrieval Center, Flipside Gaming and CrossFit House Party.
But, there is a good amount of space still available. The area that was once home to Upstate Concert Hall is currently vacant and the large area that once housed Northway Church is undergoing a significant facelift.
So what’s happening? The Albany Business Review says the building’s owners are currently working on a 1.5 million dollar renovation to the plaza, and new tenants are already lining up.
One of the new businesses soon to be operating is Goldfish Swim School. This will be their second location in the Capital Region, the first is located on Wolf Rd. They hope to open by July 4th.
A new beverage center is also expected to open. Kushan Patel, who owns beverage stores in Colonie and Troy plans on expanding to one of the available spaces at the strip mall this year – he sees the demand in that part of town.
There’s only one beverage center, which is on Route 9 and serves the Halfmoon side. There’s nothing on the other side.
Renovations are expected to continue and the owners hope to announce more tenants in the near future.
