This is pretty cool.. Sahana, a talented third-grader from Genet Elementary School in East Greenbush, New York, has been honored as one of the top 10 students in a national poster contest that raises awareness about online dangers faced by children. Out of the hundreds of submissions received from across the country, Sahana’s poster stood out and caught the attention of the judges.
Her winning artwork will be transformed into a poster and prominently featured in the 2023 Kids Safe Online activity book, published by the Center for Internet Security. This recognition not only celebrates Sahana’s artistic talent but also highlights the importance of educating children about online safety.
To commemorate her achievement, Sahana will be presented with an award during the welcome ceremony at the New York State Plaza Cybersecurity Conference, held at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center on Tuesday, June 6.
The national poster contest was open to students from kindergarten through 12th grade in public and private schools as well as youth organizations across all 50 states. It aimed to raise awareness among children about the various devices they use, such as phones, tablets, laptops, and gaming systems, and empower them to make informed choices to protect their personal information and identify potential online dangers.
Sahana’s achievement not only showcases her artistic talent but also serves as a reminder of the importance of promoting online safety among children. Her contribution to the Kids Safe Online poster contest will help raise awareness and empower young individuals to navigate the digital world responsibly. Congratulations to Sahana for her outstanding accomplishment!
