Wizkid Taps Justin Bieber for ‘Essence (Remix)’

Wizkid is linking up with Justin Bieber.

The Nigerian superstar has announced a surprise remix to his global hit “Essence” featuring the pop superstar. The Tems-assisted song is set to hit streaming services tonight.

Earlier in the day, Wizkid teased the remix on his Instagram Story. “Dat @justinbieber vocals,” he wrote in a since-deleted IG Story. “Love u my g!”

“Essence,” which is No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100, appears on Wizkid’s album Made in Lagos. The project, released last October, features appearances from Ella Mai, H.E.R., Damian Marley, and Burna Boy.

Bieber currently has the No. 1 song in the country with “Stay,” his collaboration with The Kid LAROI.

Next up, Wizkid is set to hit the road on his “Made in Lagos” tour. The 17-date trek kicks off Sept. 10 in Boston and hits major cities including Brooklyn, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Miami through October before closing out with a pair of Canadian dates in Toronto and Montreal in January.
