Pharrell Williams’ Something in the Water Festival won’t be returning to Virginia Beach.
The rapper-producer is pulling the festival from his hometown. In a letter to city manager Patrick Duhaney, shared by WAVY-TV 10, Pharrell said he can no longer throw the annual event in his “beloved 757” because of what he calls “toxic energy.”
He explains that he started the festival to “ease racial tension” and “unify the region.” However, following the fatal police shooting of his cousin, Donovon Lynch, things haven’t been the same.
“I wish the same energy I’ve felt from Virginia Beach leadership upon losing the festival would have been similarly channeled following the loss of my relative’s life,” wrote Pharrell.

Lynch, 25, was among those killed during three separate shootings that also claimed the life of Deshayla Harris. The officer who fired the fatal shot did not have his body-worn camera turned on at the time. Police also said Lynch brandished a weapon before he was shot, which his family disputes.
“I love my city, but for far too long it has been run by–and with toxic energy. The toxic energy that changed the narrative several times around the homicide of my cousin, Donovon Lynch, a citizen of Virginia, is the same toxic energy that changed the narrative around the mass murder and senseless loss of life at Building Number 2,” said Pharrell, referring to the May 2019 mass shooting at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center that left 12 people dead and four injured.
“I sang about a room without a roof, but I am tired of kindly and politely being shown the door,” added the “Happy” hitmaker.
In closing, Pharrell demanded a call to action. “Until the gatekeepers and the powers-that-be consider the citizens and the consumer base, and no longer view the idea of human rights for all as a controversial idea… I don’t have any problems with the city, but I realize the city hasn’t valued my proposed solutions, either.”
His message was in response to a letter from Duhaney who said he felt “immense disappointment” after he learned Something in the Water may not be held in 2022.
The 2019 festival featured performances from Travis Scott, Migos, Missy Elliott, J Balvin, SZA, Jhené Aiko, and more. While the 2020 and 2021 events were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the inaugural event reportedly resulted in an economic impact of more than $24 million.
Pharrell has not announced whether the festival will return in 2022 to a different city.Continue Reading
R. Kelly’s YouTube channels have been removed in the wake of his guilty verdict.
A week after the singer’s conviction on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges, YouTube deleted two of his official video channels, which hosted his music videos. According to The New York Times, RKellyTV and Kelly’s Vevo account were removed on Tuesday in what YouTube described as an enforcement of its terms of service.
“We can confirm that we have terminated two channels linked to R. Kelly in accordance with our creator responsibility guidelines,” Ivy Choi, a YouTube spokesperson, said in a statement.
As part of its guidelines, YouTube may shut down the channels of people accused of very serious offenses if they have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to crimes, and if their content is closely related to those crimes.
“Egregious actions committed by R. Kelly warrant penalties beyond standard enforcement measures due to a potential to cause widespread harm,” YouTube’s head of legal, Nicole Alston, wrote in a memo. “Ultimately we are taking this action to protect our users similar to other platforms.”
Kelly will no longer be able to use, own, or create YouTube channels, but it’s not a complete ban. The singer’s music is still allowed on YouTube through user-generated content, including covers of his songs, and on his own “topic” page.
Additionally, YouTube will continue to offer Kelly’s catalog on its audio streaming service, YouTube Music.
Last month, R. Kelly was convicted on all nine counts by a federal jury in New York, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and the sexual exploitation of a child. He faces decades in prison.
While deleting a channel for a person’s behavior in the real world is unusual, it is not unprecedented for YouTube. The Google-owned video platform has previously removed the channels of creators like FamilyOFive and Austin Jones, best known for his a cappella covers, who pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge.Continue Reading
Chris Brown is off the hook in his battery case.
The singer will not be prosecuted after prosecutors decided to reject the case. According to TMZ, the L.A. City Attorney’s Office declined to move forward with charges due to insufficient evidence against Chris.
In June, cops were called to Brown’s home after a woman claimed he smacked the back of her head so hard that her weave came off. Police filed a battery report and Chris was named as the suspect.
Aside from the displaced weave, the woman reportedly suffered no injuries and no arrests were made.
Following the report, Chris seemingly responded to the accusations on his Instagram Story. “Yall so damn [cap],” he wrote alongside a series of laughing emojis.
With one legal battle behind him, Chris is now facing a lawsuit for copyright infringement over his 2019 Drake collaboration, “No Guidance.” Brandon Cooper, who goes by the stage name Mr. Cooper, and Timothy Valentine claim “No Guidance” ripped off their song called “I Love Your Dress.” In their suit, they allege that the beat, lyrics, hook, and rhythmic structure were copied, and are seeking “big damages.”Continue Reading

“@liltunechi I just opened the bags & I’m in shock,” she wrote. “This is insane. I love you so much. This is A LOT OF STUFF. OMG.”

While his mother showed off the fly fits, Papa could be heard in the background banging on a table. “Papa, can I steal one video without you banging around?” she told him before thanking Wayne. “Thank you so so much.”
Nicki and her husband Kenneth Petty threw a Kung Fu Panda-themed party in the backyard of their L.A. home to celebrate their son’s 1st birthday. Guests included Diddy’s daughters and Nicki’s new manager, Wassim “Sal” Slaiby. She also thanked Diddy for providing the drinks, Ciroc and DeLeón.
In honor of her son turning one, Nicki also penned a touching tribute to her baby boy. “On Sept. 30th you turned 1. Mama is so proud of you, PapaBear,” she wrote in her caption. “You’re the best boy in the whole wide world. I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but God bless you, son. Mommy & Daddy will never stop loving you.”
Ray J is battling pneumonia in the hospital and the situation reportedly got so bad, he thought he was going to die.
Ray J’s manager, David Weintraub, tells TMZ that the singer was hospitalized four days ago when doctors learned he had pneumonia.
When he was admitted, doctors originally thought he had COVID and placed him in the COVID wing of the hospital. He was given five COVID tests, all of which came back negative, and was transferred out of the COVID wing two days later.
In a phone call with TMZ, Ray J shared his worst fears. “I thought it was over. I started praying and knew God is good so I just kept praying,” he said.
But he is not out of the woods yet. He is currently receiving oxygen and has difficulty breathing and talking. He wakes up at 6 a.m. and feels like he could go home, but by 6:30 things deteriorate.
He is asking for prayers and hopes for a quick recovery so he can see his two kids. His manager is hopeful that he will be able to go home by the end of the week.Continue Reading
Elton John thinks Young Thug is the best freestyler, even better than Eminem.
The pop icon was “blown away” after witnessing Thug in the studio while they were recording “Always Love You,” a collaboration on John’s forthcoming album The Lockdown Sessions, which also features Nicki Minaj.
In fact, he was even more impressed by Thug’s freestyle skills than another one of his friends and longtime collaborators, Eminem.
“I mean, I’ve seen Marshall [Mathers] do it in Detroit, but I’ve never seen someone like Thug come in and do that,” the 74-year-old told Billboard.
“In the end, I had to leave because I think he felt a bit intimidated that I was there and I just wanted him to relax,” he added. “But it’s just an amazing moment in my musical life… I have no understanding of how rap records are put together and it’s fascinating to watch.”
Elton first met Thug when the YSL rapper sampled John’s classic “Rocket Man” on his 2018 track “High.”
“He wanted to meet me…and we shot the breeze for 40 minutes,” John recalled of their meeting. “He said, “What do you think? What advice would you give me?’ I said, ‘Did you sing in the choir?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, of course I sang in the choir. Gospel choir.’ I said, ‘Sing more. Don’t just rap, sing more, because the mixture of rap and musicianship and melody is what really makes rap take off.’ And he’s doing that now.”
In addition to “Always Love You,” The Lockdown Sessions features collaborations with Lil Nas X, Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, Stevie Wonder, Charlie Puth, and more.
John is also reportedly featured on Thug’s new album Punk, due out Oct. 15. Their new collaboration “More,” which also features Gunna, was previewed during the Givenchy show at Paris Fashion Week.Continue Reading
Nelly is finally getting his flowers.
Over two decades since the release of his debut Country Grammar, the St. Louis rap icon is set to be honored with the “I Am Hip-Hop” award at the 2021 BET Hip-Hop Awards, airing tonight at 9 p.m. ET.
Despite all his accomplishments, including 21 million albums sold and three Grammys, he remains humble. Speaking with Rap-Up via Zoom, a grateful Nelly reflected on receiving the honor, which has previously been awarded to Lil’ Kim, Snoop Dogg, and Lil Wayne.
“You’re thankful for anytime you could be honored and work that you put in for 20-plus years,” he said. “You shouldn’t take it for granted because everybody don’t get a chance to do it. It means that much more special because BET has been there since the beginning of Nelly’s career.”
It marks a full circle moment for Nelly, whose “Country Grammar” video was first to go No. 1 on “106 & Park.” “The day ‘106 & Park’ aired, that countdown, ‘Country Grammar’ was No. 1,” he said. “BET has been showing Nelly nothing but love since the beginning of time, and I don’t wanna say it’s overwhelming, but it is a little bit.”
Nelly continues to reinvent himself. In 2004, he scored a crossover hit with “Over and Over,” his duet with country singer Tim McGraw. In August of this year, he released his country-inspired project Heartland.
He acknowledged the doors he’s opened for today’s crossover stars like Breland and Lil Nas X, who has faced criticism in the hip-hop community. However, Nelly remains unwavering in his support for the “Old Town Road” hitmaker.
“You have someone such as Nas X who was able to come out and create such a stir in being himself,” he said. “Do I always agree with Lil Nas X? I don’t always have to agree with Lil Nas X, but I agree that Lil Nas X has a right to do him. And that’s what I support. I support that young brother’s right to do him, period.”
Added Nelly, “That’s my cat, man. He alright with me. We all get a little buck wild. I may not agree with everything, but I agree with his right to do him.”
Nelly remains tapped in to today’s artists (“I’m one of the old heads that supports the young ones”), and shared his love for MCs like Lil Baby, Moneybagg Yo, and Yella Beezy.
He’s also a fan of rap’s reigning king, Drake. “Dude is phenomenal, bro. He’s gonna do down as one of the greatest entertainers of all time, just period,” he said of the Certified Lover Boy. “His journey is probably not even halfway yet and that’s scary.”Continue Reading
Justin Timberlake is parting ways with his L.A. mansion.
The singer and his wife, Jessica Biel, have put their Hollywood Hills home on the market for $35 million. The gated compound sits on over 10 acres in the Hollywood Hills with complete privacy and stunning views.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Timberlake paid $8.3 million for the property in 2002 prior to his marriage to Biel. Built in 2000, the 13,530-square-foot Spanish villa is located at the end of a cul-de-sac off Mulholland Drive and features seven bedrooms, a gym, screening room, and an expansive outdoor entertaining area.
Additionally, there is a separate guesthouse, tennis court, vegetable gardens, and an 85-foot zero-edge pool, which the couple added when they renovated the property.
The estate, once owned by early Hollywood star Errol Flynn, also includes a vacant 7-acre lot that sits behind the main residence and offers added privacy. Timberlake purchased the land from actress Helen Hunt.
According to listing agent Justin Paul Huchel, the property is one of the largest in the area. “Just a sliver of grass in the [Hollywood] Hills is hard to find,” said Huchel.
The couple, who has two sons, has been spending less time in Los Angeles. Their real estate portfolio also includes properties in New York City, Montana, and Tennessee.Continue Reading
Bhad Bhabie has a brand new look.
The rapper, whose real name is Danielle Bregoli, took to social media to share her glamorous transformation, including wavy brown locks with highlights and a full-beat face. As part of the reveal, she posted a TikTok video of herself holding an armful of Chanel bags while mocking her critics.
“Golly gee, I sure do look like the disappointment of the family, but isn’t it funny how I make the most fu**in’ money?” she said while recreating a TikTok trend.
Her new look received support from friends including India Love, while others compared it to another famous rapper. “Cardi B is that you,” commented one fan.
Bhad Bhabie has often been criticized for her appearance, including accusations of blackfishing. However, she still received backlash for her latest look, which she claims was an experiment.
“Y’all failed the test,” she told her critics. “We did a wig that had no type of curl to it, natural curl to it, and we did makeup lighter than my skin, with barely any contour, just to see if y’all would still make the comment, and you did,” she said. “So now I know, it’s not about me actually. ‘Oh, she looks this, she’s trying to look that.’ It’s literally that y’all just want a famous person to respond to you. That’s all it is.”
After parting ways with Warner Music earlier this year, Bhad Bhabie launched her own independent record label, BHAD Music, and dropped her new single “Miss Understood.”
She has also been advocating for artists to retain the masters to their music, citing Kanye West as an influence. “Kanye brought a lot of attention last year to artists owning their masters,” she told Variety. “I feel lucky to be 18 and now I get to own mine going forward. I have my own platform to get my music out to my fans.”Continue Reading

“Some Dawn updates… Album is complete,” he revealed.

Added Abel, “More to come in the following months.”
He did not say if the album would drop this year, but he did tease “some exciting features coming out in the fall before the album drops.”
In August, he kicked off the new era with the album’s first single, “Take My Breath.”

“Easy on Me – October 15,” she wrote in her caption.

Nick Cannon is a father of seven, but he has no plans to add to his family right now.
Speaking with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on the latest episode of “Drink Champs,” the new daytime talk show host revealed that he is practicing celibacy after welcoming four children in seven months.
When N.O.R.E. brought up his many kids, Cannon defended himself. “I ain’t even got that many compared to… I’m like low on the totem pole, but I love all my kids,” he said before making a shocking revelation: “I told you, I’m celibate right now.”
In fact, he is trying to remain celibate until next year. “I’m going to see if I can make it to 2022.”
In July, Cannon made headlines when he welcomed his seventh child, a boy named Zen S. Cannon, with “Wild ‘N Out” model Alyssa Scott.
Prior to that in June, he and radio DJ Abby De La Rosa welcomed twin sons, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir. Back in December, Nick and model Brittany Bell welcomed their daughter, Powerful Queen. They also share a 4-year-old son, Golden.
Additionally, the “Masked Singer” host has 10-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with ex-wife Mariah Carey.
During the interview, he also reflected on his relationship with Kim Kardashian, who he started dating in 2006 following Kim’s split from Ray J. At the time, Kim denied that she and Ray J had a sex tape when Nick confronted her about it.
“I believe Ray J knew her before I did. I was really into her,” said Nick. “I was vibing. We were on some serious shit. She broke my heart. Then, it started being these rumors going around that it was this tape. When I asked her about it, she denied it. I knew that they messed with each other. I never watched the tape.”
However, Nick admitted that the infamous tape took a toll on their relationship. “I just knew at that time, all my team was like, ‘Abort mission.'”Continue Reading
“Blurred Lines” is still making controversy.
In her new book My Body, which will be released next month, supermodel Emily Ratajkowski alleges that Robin Thicke grabbed her breasts while they were filming the music video for his chart-topping 2013 hit featuring Pharrell Williams and T.I.
“Suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt the coolness and foreignness of a stranger’s hands cupping my bare breasts from behind. I instinctively moved away, looking back at Robin Thicke,” Ratajkowski writes in the book, according to the Sunday Times of London.
Ratajkowski appeared topless alongside Thicke in the video, which has nearly 800 million views on YouTube.
According to the report (via Page Six), Ratajkowski initially enjoyed the shoot until Thicke started behaving inappropriately.
“He smiled a goofy grin and stumbled backward, his eyes concealed behind his sunglasses. My head turned to the darkness beyond the set. [The director, Diane Martel’s] voice cracked as she yelled out to me, ‘Are you okay?,'” the book states.
“I pushed my chin forward and shrugged, avoiding eye contact, feeling the heat of humiliation pump through my body,” she added. “I didn’t react—not really, not like I should have.”
Martel confirmed the incident, according to the report. “I remember the moment that he grabbed her breasts,” she said. “One in each hand. He was standing behind her as they were both in profile. I screamed in my very aggressive Brooklyn voice, ‘What the f**k are you doing, that’s it!! The shoot is over!!'”
Thicke had reportedly been drinking and “sheepishly” apologized afterward. “I don’t think he would have done this had he been sober,” Martel said.
This is the latest controversy involving “Blurred Lines.” In 2015, a judge ordered Thicke and Williams to pay almost $5 million to Marvin Gaye’s estate for copyright infringement of Gaye’s 1977 song “Got to Give It Up.”Continue Reading

Fizz made headlines after he started dating Omarion’s ex, which caused friction in the group and may have resulted in B2K’s removal from the second “Millennium Tour.”
Omarion, who split with Jones in 2016, previously addressed the controversy. “I don’t feel no ways, I don’t feel any way about it,” he told VladTV. “I think that if they’re happy, then they should be happy. I think they should change the narrative, though.”
“She’s still the mother of my children,” he added. “When something affects her, it affects my kids, and that affects me. But what she does is, you know, live your life. I think people should do whatever makes them happy. I think they should change the narrative though because if it’s their so-called happiness then I shouldn’t be a part of it.”

J-Boog previously spoke out against Fizz’s relationship with Jones and blamed him for derailing their reunion tour. “Fizzle Pop ruined everything,” he said on Instagram Live in November 2019. “I wouldn’t say he ruined everything, but about 99 percent of it though.”
In addition to Omarion and B2K, last night’s “Millennium Tour” featured performances from Ashanti, Soulja Boy, Ying Yang Twins, Lloyd, Sammie, and Pretty Ricky.
Chris Brown also joined Bow Wow on stage to perform their collaboration “Shawty Like Mine.”
Summer Walker is coming.
The singer has revealed that her sophomore album will arrive in November. She was slated to make the announcement on the red carpet at the BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta on Friday, but she was denied entry because of COVID-19 restrictions.
“I was super excited to go to the BET Hip Hop Awards today, but they wouldn’t let me in due to COVID restrictions,” Summer said while standing in the parking lot. “I was gonna talk about some stuff on the red carpet, so I decided to pull up anyway and let you guys know some things.”
She then hit a switch and projected her announcement in pink lights on the side of a building. “Summer Walker Album #2 Coming November,” read the message.
She plans to unveil more details on the two-year anniversary of her debut album Over It. Released on Oct. 4, 2019, the project debuted at No. 1 and featured collaborations with Bryson Tiller, Usher, 6LACK, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and more.
Summer previously revealed some of the superstar guests who are set to appear on the long-awaited follow-up including SZA, Lil Durk, and Ari Lennox. She has also been in the studio with Omarion and Pharrell Williams.Continue Reading
Lil Nas X is clapping back at his critics.
The rapper’s debut album Montero opened at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 last month with 126,000 equivalent album units, including 147 million streams, but took the runner-up spot to Drake’s Certified Lover Boy. While second-week sales are not officially in yet, it appears that he will slide to No. 3 behind Drake and YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s Sincerely, Kentrell.
Despite Nas’ solid numbers, which Billboard described as an “excellent performance for a debut album,” his critics couldn’t resist the opportunity to declare him a “flop,” claiming he “sold his soul” but it wasn’t enough to get him the No. 1 spot.
y’all have tweeted 10 different versions of this tweet. meanwhile my album has already sold almost 2 million copies worldwide and is already the 8th most streamed project of the year. cry & cope. https://t.co/KNT2OMcPLH

“Lil nas X danced on the devil, came out as gay & sold his soul just for his album to not overcome drake’s or Youngboy. FLOP. Real overcomes all!” wrote one Twitter account.
But Nas had the perfect response to the trolls. “y’all have tweeted 10 different versions of this tweet,” he replied, while touting his stats. “meanwhile my album has already sold almost 2 million copies worldwide and is already the 8th most streamed project of the year. cry & cope.”
He also retweeted an account that claimed Montero has sold an impressive 1,947,000 units worldwide in just two weeks.
The album, which features appearances from Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, and Jack Harlow, has also spawned three top 10 singles including “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” “Industry Baby,” and “That’s What I Want.”Continue Reading
Drake and YoungBoy Never Broke Again are linking up.
During an interview on streaming platform Stationhead, YoungBoy revealed that he and Drake have been in talks to collaborate since last year when YoungBoy dropped his album Top.
“Me and Drake was really talkin’ ’bout Top, going ahead and getting the deal sealed with me and him linking up,” said YoungBoy, who is currently in jail awaiting trial on drug and weapons charges.
He went on to confirm that something is in the works. “That’s the whole collab we workin’ on as we speak,” he added. “Yes, that is in the works.”
This would mark the first collaboration between the chart-topping rappers.
YoungBoy is fresh off the release of his new album Sincerely, Kentrell, which is neck and neck with Drake’s Certified Lover Boy for No. 1 on next week’s Billboard 200.
Adele’s comeback may be near.

There’s no love lost between Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
Amid their divorce, the estranged couple was spotted leaving Nobu in Malibu on Thursday night (Sept. 30). After dining with friends, Kim got in the passenger’s seat of a white Rolls-Royce with Kanye behind the wheel before they drove off with their friends in the backseat.
In photos obtained by Page Six, Kim wore a purple catsuit and brown coat while the Yeezy designer kept a low profile in a black T-shirt, sunglasses, and a hat.
The former couple has remained united throughout their divorce. Back in August, they were also spotted dining together in Malibu. Kim attended all of Kanye’s DONDA listening events and even joined him on stage at Chicago’s Soldier Field where she wore a white Balenciaga wedding dress in a recreation of their 2014 wedding.
The Nobu sighting comes amid reports that the estranged couple is trying to save their marriage. According to TMZ, they had been spending time together privately and “working on rebuilding the foundation of their relationship.”
Kim filed for divorce from Kanye in February after nearly seven years of marriage, but they remain focused on their family and four kids—North, 8, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2.
A source told E! News that the pair is “open” to the possibility of getting back together. “Kim is not rushing the divorce,” the source said. “She and Kanye are in a good place right now and she is not on a rushed timeline to push the divorce forward.”
Kanye has reportedly “expressed that he wants her back,” but Kim “wants to focus first on rebuilding their foundation and friendship back stronger.”Continue Reading
Meek Mill is back with Expensive Pain, his first album in three years.
Hot on the heels of the album’s release, the Philly rapper opened up to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about his new music and reflected on his infamous beef with Drake.
“It’s one of my favorite right now. I think this is probably one of my favorite albums where I express myself,” Meek said of the follow-up to 2018’s Championships.
The title was inspired by his studio sessions with Lil Uzi Vert and Brent Faiyaz, who both appear on Expensive Pain.
“I actually said expensive pain on a song with Uzi when we was in a booth rapping. I said, ‘You ain’t rich, your stash can’t pay my drug bill.’ Basically we smoke a lot of weed and stuff like that, and I was playing it for Brent Faiyaz one day in the studio, he heard me say that, he was like, ‘That bar hot.’ He was like, ‘That’s a fire word, expensive pain.’ He was like, ‘That should be an album title.’ And I start thinking about it and then I stuck with it.”
Also in the interview, Meek recalled the fallout from his feud with Drake and how he was able to bounce back.
“2019, I think my slowest year, me and Drake was beefing,” he said. “I was at a disadvantage. He was winning, in the eyes of the people. I still walked my way through that, went through prison, I had to go through something. Once I bounced back out, Championships. We had a pandemic, two years go by, few people fading away. We in 2021, I’m going to stand on Expensive Pain, I’m going to stand on my talent, and I’m going to remain confident and hope that people pay attention to what’s going on because they got a long way to go. I’m trying to keep pushing.”
Meek, who is managed by Roc Nation, revealed how JAY-Z’s The Blueprint influenced him as an artist and businessman.
“I come up off The Blueprint. We come up from listening to the blueprint of real life,” he said. “My stages of life growing up, we ain’t really had dads growing up in the streets, so music was important to us. We were young, we ain’t really know about the level of stuff JAY-Z was talking about, but when I got older, I got The Blueprint, I was rapping, I was making music. So that was the beginning of me falling in love with how JAY move and how he handle business. I couldn’t really understand it, but once now I got around JAY and see how he’s moving and how he handle business, this is my infrastructure that I follow.”
He went on to applaud the Roc Nation CEO for all he’s done for his community. “He make it better for all young black men in the business to be able to move fast and open bigger doors,” added Meek. “Sometimes I even text him and be like, ‘Yo, you’re making a faster lane for all of us. I want you to know that,’ because that’s a big deal when you break barriers like the ones he break. I don’t really shy away when people I’m connected to break big barriers, and I see him do that a lot.”
In addition to juggling a successful career, Meek is a devoted dad. In May of last year, he welcomed his second son, which gave him a new perspective.
“I got a 10-year-old son and I got a one-year-old son, so it just gave me a extra eye opener, opened both of my eyes that I really got to be a man, and really be here for some people, and build a real family and situation for some people that I made,” he said. “I had babies and I never grew up with a father, so I got a responsibility to raise them to be way better than I am.”
In celebration of the album’s release, Meek will perform Expensive Pain in its entirety during his “Expensive Pain: Meek Mill & Friends” playback concert on Oct. 23 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Tickets are on sale now.Continue Reading

Meek Mill is back with his first album in three years.
Expensive Pain, the Philly rapper’s fifth studio album, arrives on the heels of the singles “Blue Notes 2” with Lil Uzi Vert and “Sharing Locations” featuring Lil Durk and Lil Baby. Lil Wayne and Rich the Kid’s collaborative mixtape is finally here.
After much anticipation, Trust Fund Babies arrives today. The 10-track set includes a collaboration with YG (“Buzzin”), plus the single “Feelin’ Like Tunechi,” for which they also released a video.
Rich the Kid first teased the project back in April 2018 and once he and Weezy got in the studio, it took about a month-and-a-half to record. Throughout the years, the two have skated together and collaborated on tracks including the remix to “Talk to Me” and last year’s “Body Bag.”
“For me, it’s the chemistry, it’s the camaraderie because first of all, Rich like my little bro and me and Rich been rockin’ for a minute,” Wayne told fans during a livestream, while Rich added, “The vibe we had in the studio was so natural.”
