Termite Techniques Could Cool Bulidings

Researchers have used termite mounds to find more efficient ways to use building materials to help naturally cool spaces!
With air conditioning making up 20% of all electricity used by buildings worldwide, even a minor improvement can go a long way. The way termites build their mounds feature complex tunnels, channels and chambers which help circulate air throughout their colony. Using similar techniques, researchers believe they can apply these principles to new structures!
