The building that is home to Albany's most iconic restaurant has new owners.

Jack’s Oyster House, a downtown Albany landmark since 1913, is now in new hands. Former owner Brad Rosenstein confirmed the sale to NEWS10 this week.

The restaurant had been operated by three generations of the Rosenstein family before they made the decision to sell last year. Jack’s originally closed in August 2022 for renovations and was expected to reopen. However, Rosenstein said his plans to co-manage the restaurant with partners did not work out.

While the sale is now complete, the new owners have not announced what they plan to do with the historic property. Jack’s has long been a popular dining destination in the Capital Region, known for its seafood and fine dining experience.
