'Substantial' Amount of Rain Headed Toward the Capital Region

As much as 3 inches of rain possible

It's been one of the driest autumn seasons in recent memory. Lack of rainfall has caused concern among water supplies in some New York State reservoirs, not to mention the dozens of wildfires that have broken out across the northeast.

Relief is coming though, and a lot of it. A significant storm will move into the area late Wednesday night and continue through Thursday into Friday. The immediate Capital Region is expected to get between 1.5"-2" of rain - some surrounding areas could see as much as 3".
