Only open for one season, a sign out front says 'permanently closed'

An ice cream and family fun center that opened a year ago will apparently not open for 2024 - or ever again. Fat Boys Ice Cream and Family Fun Plex on Freeman's Bridge Road in Glenville opened for business in June of 2023. The new facility featured mini golf, cornhole, batting cages, a planned go-kart track and a variety of ice cream options.

A sign outside the business reads:

Business Permanently Closed. 24 Hour Video Surveillance in effect. Private Property – No Trespassing. Residence Occupied – Keep Out.

News 10 reached out to owner Dan Maggs, who said his partner did not want to open the fun plex this season and Maggs did not want to run the operation by himself.

It is what it is. Everything changes.

Below is a News 10 piece that aired in 2023 when Fat Boys had its grand opening.
