If you're a fan of buying physical copies of movies and you get them at Best Buy then you better stock up as quick as you can because they plan on no longer selling them as of this year.

There were rumors floating around that the chain had planned on phasing out Blu Ray and DVD's and now Best Buy has confirmed that.

In a statement from Best Buy to Variety -

"To state the obvious, the way we watch movies and TV shows is much different today than it was decades ago. Making this change gives us more space and opportunity to bring customers new and innovative tech for them to explore, discover and enjoy.”

Best Buy had initially said that they would sell physical copies of movies through the 2023 holiday season but now that the season is over, they're going to begin the process of doing away with them. However, if you're a gamer and would like to buy physical copies of video games, you'll still be able to do that.

For now though, Wal-Mart, Target and even Amazon still carry DVD's and Blu-Rays. But don't be surprised if they start to phase them out as well.
