For years now, we've all driven into Downtown Albany and looked at the Central Warehouse and thought "why can't they figure out what to do with that building?" or even "why don't they just tear that thing down?"

Well, now it seems like that might be the fate of the giant concrete square building. According to the Times Union, the developers have been in talks with public officials as to what they should do with that building. Tear it down seems to be one of the most popular opinions. The building itself is estimated to need at least $20 Million in repairs and that's before anything else can even be done to redevelop it. Not to mention that there are other obstacles that stand in the way of that redevelopment.

Jeff Buell, who is a principal at Redburn Development said

“It would require a massive influx of public money, which I’m not sure is the best decision,”

In my opinion, I'd say lets just knock it down and start over. It might be the most cost effective course of action at this point. Don't get me wrong, it's clearly a landmark for The Cap City but maybe for all the wrong reasons.
