Last night, Jo Koy had the very unfortunate duty of hosting The Golden Globes. Jo is facing some serious backlash on the internet. Claim of him being the "worst" to ever host the show. He should never be asked to do it again. How could he make fun of Taylor Swift? 

I say that the backlash is unfair. Here's why. First of all, Jo was asked to host the award show late in December. Considering the holiday and Jo having a family, that really doesn't give him enough time to come up with material that's going to "crush" in that particular room. Also, with him being asked so late would lead me to believe that nobody really wanted to take that job. Jo was put in a tough situation, in my opinion. He could have turned it down but then runs the risk of never being asked to host another awards show again. Or, he takes the gig and it goes like it went last night. Point number 3 - given the fact that the Epstein list has been slowly leaking to the public, there were a lot of people in that room last night that are "on edge" to say the least. Their names might have been on that list or their friends names were on that list. And my final point - that room is filled with people that take themselves way to serious. I understand that the host of the show is usually a stand up comic of some kind and they usually roast the audience, however I can't think of a time where the host crushed it and the audience was fully of belly laughs. On top of that, after every Golden Globes, the internet thinks that the person that hosted was the "worst ever". 

Oh and by the way, Taylor seems to laugh at everyone else when they tell a joke about her. Last night though, Jo tells a joke about the NFL and The Golden Globes "The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift," and she didn't even crack a smile? 

Joe is not a HUGE named comic that everyone knows. He's not Chris Rock or Ricky Gervais. However, he is hilarious! The jokes he had to tell last night were quite possibly written by other people along with Jo. Actually, I know that they were. He said it on stage last night. Fact of the matter is, Jo was put in a no win situation last night.
