Ye is facing another lawsuit, this time over paparazzi photos that he posted of him and his wife on social media.
The lawsuit is for $1.5 Million and was filed by BackGrid USA Inc. and its British affiliate, Backgrid London Ltd. claiming that Ye violated copyright infringement by posting these pictures. He posted 10 photos on his Instagram and also on his website without paying to license any of them.
The company is making the claim that by him posting these photos it's costing them "up to hundreds of thousands of dollars" in possible revenue.
The company is looking for Ye to pay $150,000 in damages for the use of each photo, as well as cover the cost of the attorney fees that the company will need to pay. On top of that, they are also requesting accounting of all the profits that Ye may have received by posting these unlicensed photos.
