Grated that there is no shortage of McDonald's in The Capital Region but we are now looking at one less. The McDonald's that was located on the corner of Troy-Schenectady Road and Albany Shaker Rd has closed it doors for good. Oddly enough I had driven past this location on Monday night around 8pm and I noticed that all the lights were off and the sign was not on. I had no idea that it was permanent.

This location was built back in 1976 and on average sees over 40,000 cars pass it each day. It's really hard to believe that it will no longer be in operation. Thankfully there are plenty of other locations that you'll be able to visit if you get that Big Mac craving. There's a location on Central Ave in Colonie, Wolf Rd in Colonie, Rt.9 in Latham not to mention the one on Osborne Rd. in Colonie as well.

The owner of the closed location did release a statement through the McDonald's corporate

Our purpose is to feed and foster communities. Due to several operational and economic challenges, we have made the difficult business decision to cease operations at this location. However, we are always looking for new opportunities to serve our customers.
