With the news last week of St. Rose closing it's doors at the end of this school year comes the end of many programs that are a part of the school. One of those losses would be the Center of Communication and Interactive Media. However, alumna and also adjunct professor at St. Rose, Kelly Bird is trying to make sure that the program is not lost.
Bird told WTEN -
“I’ve thrown the idea out there to some of the alumni. What could we do to buy the building and maybe create some kind of center?”
The college responded to WTEN with the following statement -
“We have no knowledge of anyone seeking to buy the building, and no current plans to sell or donate music equipment. At the appropriate time, the College will partner with city, county and state economic development agencies as well as the Pine Hills Neighborhood Association to make a determination about College-owned real estate.”
Let's hope that they can figure something out to help keep this program going.
