By now I'm assuming that you heard about the lawsuit against Uber and Lyft were dealing with here in New York State, yeah?
Quick summary - an investigation found that they withheld funds from drivers. So now they have to pay $300 Million in the settlement.
Ok, now that we got that out of the way, let's continue on. Thanks to that investigation and settlement, drivers for the ride share companies will also get paid sick leave and drivers will be paid a minimum fee from dispatch to ride completion.
From News10.com -
One of the accusations in the settlement says ride share companies were deducting sales tax and other fees from drivers’ payments, instead of charging them to the passengers.
This is where that settlement money comes in to play. But, what are the qualifications for drivers to receive their portion of the settlement?
If you drove for Lyft in NYS between October 11, 2015 and July 31, 2017 or if you drove for Uber between November 10, 2014 and May 22, 2017 then you may qualify for the settlement money.
If you drove for either company between those dates and want to file your claim then you can CLICK HERE
