A new yellow powder invented by a students at the UC Berkley has the ability to remove substantial carbon from the atmosphere! Just a half a pound of this powder can remove the same amount of carbon dioxide out of the air as a mature oak tree! Read more about this powder here! (Good News Network)


A new study has found that plants absorb roughly 31% more carbon from the atmosphere than was previously thought! This will help scientists model out climate change and help them project changes in the future. This also means some of the dire projections for global warming may not be as extreme as originally thought, however it's still something to keep an eye on! Read more about it here! A 14-year-old from Georgia just won a $25,000 award for inventing a handheld device that can detect pesticides on produce! 70% of produce contains residues from pesticides so this could help us better know what we're putting into our bodies!
