Owners hope they can reopen before the weekend.

Broadway Joe’s Pizza & Subs in Schenectady is temporarily closed after a car crashed into the front of the shop early Tuesday morning. Police say the driver, 23-year-old Marco Duran of Rotterdam, was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. on Broadway. Security camera video shows the car moving quickly, then spinning out of control before smashing into the front of the restaurant. Duran is seen getting out of the vehicle moments later. He's being charged with DWI and is also being ticketed for speeding and failing to say in his lane. No injuries were reported.

Owner Ross Lackey tells the Daily Gazette they hope to reopen by Thursday. “It looks pretty good right now that we should reopen,” Lackey said.

The crash caused visible damage but repairs are underway. NewsChannel 13 was first to show security camera video on their Facebook page.
