Last night, July 22nd, was an amazing night to celebrate hip hop at The Empire State Plaza, and that's exactly what The Capital Region did!

The night kicked off with the 5-1-8 DJ Battle hosted by DJ Biz and DJ Show. Three great rounds which ultimately saw DJ Trifecta take home the trophy after defeating DJ Jackson in the Final round. The battle was followed by great performances from local acts JD aka Dirty Moses and J-Live.

Then it was time for the Main Event! The legendary Ghostface Killah from Wu-Tang hit the stage. Oh, he wasn't alone, he had fellow Wu member Cappadonna with him and they turned Albany all the way up! From "Ice Cream" to "C.R.E.A.M." to "Can't It All Be So Simple", it was classic after classic and the 5-1-8 was all about it from start to finish!

All in all it was a fantastic night as we all came together to celebrate the music we love! That's the vibe we need at every hip hop show that goes on in The Capital Region.
