Until last night, female athletes were not allowed to wear sports bras as a shirt during their practices at Guilderland High School. However, that changed with a 8-1 vote by the school board last night.
One of the arguments for the change of this policy was that male athletes are allowed to practice shirtless to stay cool during the warm months so why can't female athletes wear sports bras? That is no longer an issue at Guilderland. The school board did state that athletes must comply with standard dress code policies once the outdoor practice is finished.
