Fans of the "Friday" movie franchise have been waiting and waiting and waiting for another movie and now it looks like we're finally going to be getting it!
New Line's C.O.O. Richard Brenner confirmed in an interview that the deal is done and Ice Cube has been given the "go" to write and direct the final "Friday" movie.
Do we have a tentative release date for the move? No. Do we know who else will be in the movie? Also, no. But considering that this is all very new news, that was expected. I mean, there isn't even a script for the movie yet, as far as I can tell. I'm sure that Cube has an idea of what he wants to do in the film and whom he would like to appear in it, but at this time nobody is saying nothing!
One thing we do know is that Ice Cube said this last October on Million Dollaz Worth of Game -
“It’s coming back. We gonna do it. We gonna make it dope, make it funny, bring it up to date, introduce new characters, bring back old characters, create the feeling the movie gives you.”
Would we love to see Chris Tucker come back and play "Smokey"? Absolutely!! Would we love to see Mike Epps come back as "Day Day"? Absolutely!
We're in the very early stages of this story so be patient. I'll share any details that I can once more is known.
In the meantime, let's all celebrate that we will be getting "Last Friday" in the near future.
