Century Old Saratoga Restaurant Has New Owners, May Reopen Soon

Dirty Water Media, YouTube

Closed since 2023, the new owner has big plans for the space.

Sperry's Restaurant in Saratoga has been an iconic staple in the Spa City since 1932. The popular eatery closed in 2023 and has sat dormant as negotiations about its future have continued. News 10 reports that Louis Lazzanarro, who owns the Italian restaurant Nové in Wilton, is finalizing a deal to take over Sperry's.

Lazzanarro already owns the space next to the restaurant. So what are his plans? He told News 10 he plans to reopen Sperry's:

I’m planning to keep the restaurant as Sperry’s. It’ll just be revamped. There’s no sense trying to change the name.

In addition, he wants to build a 50-60 room boutique hotel in the space next to the restaurant. With the plans and approvals needed, he is not sure Sperry's will be able to open in time for track season. Lazzanarro says ideally he would like to reopen Sperry's and the hotel at the same time, which he predicts would take about two years.

Sperry's is known for its large bar, extensive menu, large patio and rich history.
