One of the greatest actors of our time has died. The incomparable James Earl Jones, who starred in over 80 films such as Field of Dreams, Dr. Strangelove and The Hunt for Red October passed away at his home in Dutchess County.
Jones most famous role was Darth Vader in the movie Star Wars, where he didn't appear on camera, but lent his voice as the villianous character. He was also the iconic voice for the Cable News Network in his voiceover 'THIS IS CNN'.
In addition to hundreds of movie and tv roles, Jones was an accomplished Broadway performer with starring roles in The Great White Hope, Fences, and the stage production of Driving Miss Daisy.
He is one of only a handful of performers to have achieved awards at the 'EGOT' level, which means he has an Emmy, Grammy, Tony and Oscar.
