The Saints and Great Danes will play at U-Albany on Wednesday!
It's kind of rare that both the U-Albany Great Danes and Siena Saints have a chance to play for a National Men's Lacrosse title.
It's even more rare that the two will play each other on Wednesday in a first round play-in game to see which one of our local team get's to move on and play top seeded Cornell.
Siena, which became a Division 1 lacrosse program back in 2000, and U-Albany haven't played each other in 3 years. Going into this game, the Great Danes hold a 13-2 record against the Saints. This will actually be the 1st time that the two programs have ever met in the postseason, however.
How'd they both get here? U-Albany was able to secure their 2nd straight America East conference championship this past Saturday defeating Bryant 12-7. On the flip side, Siena was able to win the MAAC title by defeating the top seeded Sacred Heart on the same day.
Regardless of which team wins, there will be 1 of our local colleges playing for a National Championship this year!
